Relationship Expert,Blessing CEO Blames Social Media, Power Struggles For Modern Marital Crises

Popular relationship therapist Blessing Okoro, widely known as Blessing CEO, has sparked fresh conversation about the state of modern marriages, claiming that excessive social media use and rising power dynamics between couples are key contributors to marital breakdowns in this generation.

Speaking during a recent interview with Instablog TV, the outspoken therapist noted that traditional systems of conflict resolution in marriage have become ineffective in the digital age, where couples often choose public expression over private reconciliation.

“Back then, communities and elders played a role in settling disputes, but today, people run to Instagram or TikTok to vent. That’s why marriages don’t last anymore,”she stated.

Blessing CEO further pointed to the increasing independence of women as both an empowering and destabilizing factor in relationships. According to her, many modern women, while thriving professionally, often struggle to maintain emotional balance in their personal lives — a tension she believes leads to power struggles at home.

She argued that a woman’s success isn’t what scares men, but rather the assertiveness and “masculine energy” that can accompany it.

“A lot of people say men are intimidated by successful women, but that’s not true,” she said. “Men are scared of the masculinity that sometimes comes with that success. The moment a woman starts competing, the man starts looking elsewhere.”

Her controversial advice to women? Stay successful, but remain “soft and feminine” in their relationships.

“No matter how much you earn, stay tender with your man. Once you start rubbing shoulders with him, he may cheat or walk away entirely,” she warned.

The remarks have stirred intense reactions online, with some praising her for shedding light on the realities of modern relationships, while others criticized her views as promoting outdated gender roles.

Blessing CEO is no stranger to controversy, but her latest comments add another layer to the ongoing debate over gender dynamics, success, and emotional compatibility in today’s marriages.
