Mother of Late Skit Maker & Comedian, Sanku Debunks Money Ritual Rumours

The mother of late skit maker and fast-rising comedian, Sanku Comedy, has dismissed viral claims linking her son’s death to money rituals.

Sanku, whose real name was Raji Samad Adetola, died on Monday following a fatal car accident along the Oyo-Ogbomoso Expressway in Ibadan. Shortly after the news broke, social media was awash with speculations that the young entertainer had been involved in ritual practices.

In a video that has since gone viral, his grieving mother described the allegations as false and disrespectful, insisting that her son was a devout Muslim who never engaged in any fetish acts.

“Many Alfas gave him soaps to use, but he refused, asking me instead to keep praying for him. He always believed my prayers were enough,”she said.

Recalling her son’s last days, she added: “Before his death, he asked me to come stay with him and rest before I resumed work. It hasn’t even been a month. Sanku was a good child. He promised I would reap the fruits of my labour and that he and his siblings would become great people.”

She further emphasised that the young comedian, who once hawked peppers before pursuing comedy full-time, relied on hard work and prayer rather than charms or spiritual shortcuts.

“My son did not do money rituals. He never visited any herbalist. He was always praying to God,” she said.
