Peter Obi Condemns No-flight Life Ban Imposed on Unruly Ibom Air Passenger, Comfort Emmanson

Peter Obi former Labour Party presidential candidate, condemned the **double standards** he perceived in how Emmanson was treated. While he apologized to the crew and acknowledged her misconduct, he denounced the public stripping and dehumanizing treatment she received.

He sharply contrasted it with a recent incident involving Fuji musician KWAM 1 (Wasiu Ayinde), who allegedly held a ValueJet plane from taking off—but, Obi pointed out, has not been arrested or charged

On August 10, 2025, a passenger named **Comfort Emmanson** allegedly assaulted crew members on an Ibom Air flight from Uyo to Lagos. Reports say she refused to switch off her mobile phone, escalated into a physical assault, and even attempted to use a fire extinguisher as a weapon

In response, the **Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON)** imposed an **indefinite lifetime no-fly ban** on her across all member carriers, citing the severity of her conduct

Obi called for fairness, accountability, and consistent justice, urging aviation authorities and the Minister of Aviation to address these disparities
