The Lagos State Government has moved to seal Dowen College in Lekki Phase 1 after two of its staff members were reportedly apprehended for indiscriminate disposal of waste.
According to the Lagos State Commissioner for Environment, Tokunbo Wahab, the waste was traced directly to the school, an act he described as a blatant disregard for environmental laws. He stressed that such behavior would not be tolerated.
The Corps Marshal of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps has been instructed to seal the premises, with Wahab warning that the state will take firm action against any institution or organisation that breaches waste management regulations.
He added that Lagos must remain clean, safe, and healthy for all residents, and that enforcement efforts will continue without compromise.
