A fatal accident involving a motorcycle and a truck claimed the lives of two people and left one injured on Friday afternoon, according to the Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE). The incident occurred around 1:00 p.m. at the Chelsea area along the Ota-Idiroko Expressway.
TRACE South-West Area Commander Adekunle Ajibade reported that a commercial motorcycle, with license plate number KTU 643 QQ, lost control due to excessive speed and collided with a Howo truck traveling inbound Atan. Two passengers on the motorcycle died at the scene, while the motorcyclist sustained injuries.
The deceased were taken to Ifo General Hospital, while the injured motorcyclist received treatment at Ota General Hospital. The truck was removed from the road to restore traffic flow. Commander Ajibade urged motorists to exercise caution and avoid speeding to prevent similar tragedies.
