It will help us — Awoniyi’s boss Nuno reveals secret weapon against Chelsea in UCL showdown

Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo has revealed his club will have a big advantage when they host Chelsea on the final day of the season

Nuno Espiribelieves Nottingham Forest will have the upper hand against Chelsea in their crucial final-day clash at the City Ground.

Chelsea need a victory on Sunday to secure UEFA Champions League qualification, while Forest also require a win to keep their hopes alive for Europe’s elite competition.

Only goal difference separates Newcastle United in third, Chelsea in fourth, and Aston Villa in fifth, with Manchester City, who have two games in hand, sitting in sixth.

Speaking to Sky Sports after Forest’s 2-1 victory over West Ham at the London Stadium, Nuno was asked about the upcoming Champions League showdown.

“The City Ground is another big boost for us,” said the Forest boss.

“It’s going to be bouncing and helping us, but we’re going to fight, we’re going to fight. And we’re going to face a very good team full of talent, but it’s the final game, it’s the final game. Let’s give it a go.”

Nuno added: “Since the beginning of the season, we wanted to be in this fight [for the Champions League]. We achieved it.

“If you had said in the beginning it would be possible, you would have said no. But we’re in it, and the last game at the City Ground is going to be huge for us. It is trying to achieve something magical.”
