Arsenal beat Real Madrid to signing of LaLiga midfielder Zubimendi as fans groan for striker signing

by Lordvibez

Arsenal have beaten Real Madrid for the third time this season, this time due to the signing of Martin Zubimendi

Despite growing pressure from fans to sign a top-class striker, Arsenal have sealed a deal for Real Sociedad midfielder Martín Zubimendi, beating Real Madrid to his signature.

With a €60 million release clause already set to be triggered, the Gunners appear determined to build from the middle rather than the front.

Zubimendi deal confirmed as Arsenal’s first major summer move

Arsenal’s midfield revamp has officially kicked off, with Zubimendi expected to become the first major signing of the Andrea Berta era.

An Agreement In Principle Is now in place, pending official confirmation ahead of the summer transfer window in July.

Although the Spaniard has previously shown hesitancy in committing to moves, all signs now point to him wearing red and white next season.

Real Madrid, who were also in pursuit, were reportedly unwilling to meet the €60 million clause, a decision that may cost them, especially with their squad due for major changes under incoming manager Xabi Alonso.

Fans call for a striker, Arsenal look to the midfield first

The timing of this signing has stirred mixed reactions among the Gunners’ faithful, who expected a different focus in the summer.

Arsenal supporters, still reeling from their Champions League final defeat to PSG and a goal-shy performance across both legs, had been loudly calling for a prolific forward.

But instead of a new No. 9, the club has focused on solidifying its midfield options with the signing of Zubimendi.

The midfielder’s arrival may not quench fans’ thirst for goals just yet, but Arsenal’s leadership seems confident that controlling the midfield is the first step toward broader success. Whether that gamble pays off remains to be seen.
