Bandits k!ll abducted Katsina Islamic scholar after three weeks in captivity

Bandits have killed Sheikh Mustapha Aliyu Unguwar Mai Kawo, a prominent Islamic scholar and leader of Munazzamatul Fityanul Islam in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State, after nearly three weeks in captivity.

LIB reported that bandits invaded Gidan Kaji village on Saturday, April 12, 2025 and abducted Sheikh Mai Kawo. 

Security analyst Bakatsine confirmed the sad development on Friday, May 2. 

“SAD NEWS: Bandits have killed Sheikh Mustapha Aliyu Unguwar Mai Kawo, a respected Islamic scholar & leader of Munazzamatul Fityanul Islam in Kankara LGA, Katsina State, after nearly 3 weeks in captivity,” he wrote.
