An Indian woman k!lled her two granddaughters before ending her life along with her mother after her daughter eloped with a man.
The incident occurred on Tuesday night, June 17, 2025 in Tami, Nadu.
The deceased were identified as Kaliswari, 45, her mother Chellammal, 65, and her granddaughters Likthisha, 7, and Deepthisha, 5.
Police said Kaliswari was a resident of Chinnakulipatti village in Oddanchatram taluk. She was staying along with her mother Chellammal at their house.
Kaliswari’s daughter Pavithra, 28, got married to Prabhakaran of Karur nine years ago and they had two children, Likthisha and Deepthisha, together.
After a dispute arose between Pavithra and her husband last month, she returned to her mother’s house along with the children.
Pavithra was allegedly having an extramarital affair with a man in the locality. When Kaliswari came to know about it, she reprimanded Pavithra.
Police said Pavithra eloped with the man on Tuesday evening.
Police said a shattered Kaliswari killed both her granddaughters by hanging them before she and her mother, Chellammal, hanged themselves on Tuesday night.
The incident came to light on Wednesday morning. Idayakottai police sent the bodies to Dindigul govt medical college hospital for postmortem, and registered a case.
